What areas of law do you practice?
We advise on business, immigration, family, estate planning and civil disputes, and we offer notary and commissioner of oaths services.
How do I book an appointment?
Use the Book an Appointment button on any page to choose a time online, or call +1 902 266 4224.
What is the 15-minute discovery call?
It is a complimentary virtual call to briefly understand the nature of your matter, which is helpful if you have a matter and aren’t sure what to do. It also lets us see whether we are able to work together and help with your matter, and lets you decide whether you would like to proceed with us. The discovery call is not for legal advice. If you would like legal advice, you can book a paid legal consultation.
Can I meet with you virtually?
Yes. Virtual consultations are available by video or phone, whichever you prefer. Notary services can be done virtually by video call for eligible documents, because we need to see you sign.
Where are you located, and what are your hours?
We are at 2 Ralston Avenue, Suite 100, Dartmouth, NS B3B 1H7. Our hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Do you work with clients outside Halifax and Dartmouth?
Yes. We work with clients across Canada, depending on the matter and the law that applies, and virtual appointments make this possible.
How much do you charge?
Some services have published prices, such as notary services and simple estate planning documents, plus applicable fees and HST. Other work is billed at our hourly rate, and we explain the fees and scope of services before you decide to proceed.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Bring valid photo identification, any documents related to your matter, and a short list of your questions.
Is what I tell you confidential?
Yes. What you share with a lawyer to obtain legal advice is protected by solicitor-client privilege, subject to limited legal exceptions.
Do you offer legal coaching if I’m representing myself?
Yes, by appointment. Legal coaching is pay-as-you-go at our hourly rate, without a large upfront retainer.
