Meet Veronica Dossah
BSc, LLB/JD, BL, LLM, QCL
Founder & Principal Lawyer | The LegalSeed
Veronica Dossah is a lawyer and Notary Public who practises in Nova Scotia. She is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society and the Canadian Bar Association, and was called to the Bar of Ghana. Since beginning her legal career in 2019, she has helped entrepreneurs, businesses, individuals and families navigate legal challenges, protect their interests and pursue new opportunities.
As the founder of The LegalSeed, Veronica brings an approach shaped by her experience across different legal systems, cultures and communities. She believes the law should do more than identify obstacles. It should provide a framework for finding practical, lawful solutions that advance her clients’ goals.
Where legal knowledge meets education
Veronica holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law, where she served as a Teaching Assistant and Research Associate for about three years. She remains connected to the school as a Graduate Writing Advisor. With more than 13 years across legal education, teaching, research and practice, she brings an educator’s mindset to her practice: clear communication, patience and plain-language explanations that help clients make informed decisions with confidence.
Understanding the journey behind the legal issue
Having worked with people from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds across Africa, Europe, Canada and the United States, Veronica recognizes that every legal matter has a human story behind it. She believes effective representation begins with listening: understanding not only the legal issue but the client’s circumstances, priorities and aspirations, so that solutions are both legally sound and responsive to real-world needs. Her own experience of building a career across different countries helps her understand the uncertainties and ambitions that come with starting something new.
Leadership, community and life beyond the law
Veronica serves on the Board of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Atlantic Institute (ADRAI), Canada, and has been involved with Rotary.
Outside her practice, she is a competitive tennis player who takes part in tournaments locally and internationally, a game that reflects the discipline, resilience and strategic thinking she brings to her work.
How we see the law
We see the law as a framework for finding solutions, protecting ambitions and creating possibilities. We don’t see it merely as a set of limitations.
